About me

Hi, I’m James. Some people call me Jim and I thought this made a catchy name. You can call me either one!

And to answer the question I know you are dying for… my dog’s name is Bonnie.

When I began preparing for the GAMSAT I made the same mistake as everyone else. I spent hundreds on a bundle of science resources and convinced myself that more content meant better preparation.

But when I opened the ACER questions, I felt completely stuck. I realised quickly that no amount of extra facts would help me if I didn’t know how to actually use them.

So I flipped my approach. Instead of memorising more, I studied the questions themselves. I started to see patterns. The test wasn’t about advanced science at all. It was about reasoning through dense information and applying basic concepts in smarter ways.

That shift changed everything for me. And it became the foundation of how I now teach.

Over the past three years I’ve tutored hundreds of students. Again and again I’ve seen the same issues - people overwhelmed and frustrated because the resources they rely on don’t teach them how to think.

My mission is to change that. I believe GAMSAT preparation should be focused on the skills that actually matter.

That’s why everything I create is designed to build reasoning frameworks, simplify Section 3, and give students the tools I wish I had when I was preparing.
