Practice those skills!

Welcome back to Wednesday Wisdom - your weekly dose of GAMSAT study tips and advice.

I have lost track of the number of times someone has learnt index laws with me on a tutoring session, just to come back the next week.

Resulting in me hitting my head against a brick wall... (here's ChatGPTs best impression)

How to keep your skills sharp

Once you have learnt a skill that you have identified, you have to practice it, here are 3 things I did:

  1. Flashcards - I just did paper ones because I wasn't aware of things like Quizlet and Anki, but obviously these make it easier. Just things like what is 60km/h in m/s? or what is log(1000)? Yes after a few days, you remember the answer, but it is just about practicing your process.

  2. Practice questions - obvious one, but just do them. You'll have heaps in my maths e-book. Find resources which have questions on skills you are practcicing and do them regularly. ChatGPT would be great for this too.

  3. Logging ACER questions - keep a document of questions where you need to apply skills you have been learning. Just screenshot them and put them in a word doc.

So let's put this to the test. Can you name this molecule? Comment below with your answers!
